The soon to be former Mrs.
Russell Simmons is ready for her second act.
Kimora Lee Simmons is prepping to launch her own reality show. On August 5th, "Kimora: Life in the Fab Lab", will make its debut on The Style Network. Cameras will go behind-the-scenes of the high-octane life of the ghetto fabulous fashion model, hip-hop mogul, and doting mother. Viewers will get to see Simmons as she runs her multi-million dollar Baby Phat fashion empire and will also get a sneak-peek into Kimora's private life, including her most important job as mother of two precocious young daughters,
Ming Lee and
Aoki Lee.

And that's not all the good news for Miss K. She'll have no need for bodyguards with a new man in her life, "Gladiator" star
Djimon Hounsou, who's looking mighty buff these days. The Academy Award nominated actor will be the new
Calvin Klein Underwear model starting this fall. He'll be featured in Calvin's global print advertising campaign promoting the launch of their new Calvin Klein Steel line. Expect to see Djimon in his tighty whities on billboards across the land as CK did with soccer star
Freddie Ljungberg,
Mark Wahlberg, and
Antonio Sabato Jr.
Hillary Clinton won't be able to catch Kimora's debut, she'll be too busy running around the Hamptons picking up checks from her supporters. The first weekend in August the senator won't have time for TV as she'll be guest of honor at a trio of fetes. Irene and Bernard Schwartz are hosting a $1000 a head cocktail in their Southampton manse with such folks as
Carl Spielvogel,
Robert F.X. Sillerman, and
Robert Zimmerman. The next evening its over to The Creeks on Georgica Pond for
Ron Perelman's dinner which will set you back $4,500. For those a little low on cash there's the pancake breakfast at
Susan and
Alan Patricof's East Hampton digs.
Don't be surprised if you see Tour de France winner
Lance Armstrong pedaling around the estate area in Southampton. His new lady love
Tory Burch just rented a spread on posh Captain's Neck Lane for August. It must be gorgeous as it cost $360,000 for the month. Sources say it was rented in the name of Tory's estranged husband
Chris Burch. Now isn't that too civilized!
If the lovebirds are looking for a permanent nest they should call
Christie Brinkley who we hear has put her 20+ acre compound Tower Hill on Scuttle Hole Road back on the market. That's plenty of space for Lance to pedal in peace.
Lance Bass who had all the wags at
Mercedes-Benz Polo ogling the former 'N Sync star and his hottie boyfriend
Reichen Lehmkul last summer is back on the East Coast having dumped said beau and moved on to greener pastures. Lance takes over the role of Corny Collins in Broadway's smash hit musical "Hairspray" in a matter of days.
Things seem to really be shaping up well for him. Several friends are reporting that he's officially dating Brazilian model
Pedro Andrade - quite a looker. The two were seen together in the Hamptons over the Fourth of July and word is Lance is just too thrilled to have snagged the New York gig to be closer to his new amour!
While I don't know if Lance and Pedro will be here for Polo this weekend, I can tell you if you haven't heard already that
Debra Messing, of "Will and Grace" fame, will be tossing out the ball for the first chukker of the Mercedes-Benz Polo season. I've always identified with her "Grace" it seems that all the best looking and most interesting men in my life are…well, interested in other good looking, interesting men! Maybe she can offer up some tips. In any event, the tents will be chock-a-block with fabulous fashionable folks to watch and of course there is the return of
Nacho Figueras!
More Broadway buzz:
Mel Brooks is absolutely over the top as the first run through of his new musical "Young Frankenstein" brought the audience to its feet in a standing ovation! Ditto
Patti Lupone's turn as Mama Rose in the Encores revival of "Gypsy".
Calvin Klein was reportedly knocked out by the Broadway diva.
Seen Around the Villages
The East End nightlife scene continues to sparkle with hordes of the bold faced crowd to the delight of locals and visitors. Red Hot Chili Peppers'
Chad Smith, his wife, and friends sampled the interestingly named Ants Climbing a Tree and Lychee martinis at Wei Fun in East Hampton. Over at Almond, guests were blocked from getting a close look at Department of Homeland Security Secretary
Michael Chertoff and his wife – the politico had a 14-man Secret Service detail.
The Bridgehampton Carnival was the spot for catching celebs having fun with their kiddies.
Kelsey Grammer was seen toting around his wee one while
Mark Consuelos had his hands full with cotton candy and his and
Kelly Ripa's three tots.
As usual Nick & Toni's added some mega kilo wattage to the dining scene with
Gwyneth Paltrow,
Howard Schultz,
Larry Gagosian,
Nathan Lane,
Tommy Mottola, and disco queen
Donna Summer dining there over the last few days.
Della Femina's served up pasta to the likes of The Sopranos'
Michael Imperioli and
Steven Schirripa, who visited Executive Chef
Michael Rozzi in his kitchen,
Nathan Lane, Prince's Band The Revolution, and jeweler
David Yurman.
