Ellen Adler put down her paintbrushes in her Water Mill studio to hop out to Los Angeles where her late mother the acclaimed actress, director, and teacher
Stella Adler was honored with a posthumous star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Stella's student roster reads like a Who's Who's of Hollywood including
Marlon Brando,
Robert DeNiro,
Harvey Keitel,
Roy Scheider,
Candice Bergen, and
Warren Beatty who took over the chairmanship of the famed Stella Adler Studio of Acting upon Brando's death. Former students
Benicio Del Toro and
Mark Ruffalo both spoke about Stella at the ceremony that drew hundred of family and friends.
Gossip guru
Flo Anthony of E! TV and syndicated radio fame came out east for a doubleheader this weekend the Bravura Art and Objects Gallery reception for Evidence Dance Company and the National Urban League fete in Sag Harbor. Flo regaled us with tales of late night dinners with
Elton John and
Mick Jagger at Mr. Chow's but she wouldn't give us a hint on what's up with her close pal
Michael Jackson.
Flo and fellow scribe
Audrey Bernard were there especially to see the delicious
Reggie Van Lee, Chairman of Evidence. Reggie had that afternoon given a keynote address in Charlotte, North Carolina to the national conference of Habitat for Humanity, hoped a jet to La Guardia, and choppered to Dune Road in Southampton to be the first to arrive. Funny how the folks who came the farthest beat us locals to the champagne. Memo to self: get a private helicopter.
CBS anchor
Rene Syler, the hip smart co-host of The Early Show will be the mistress of ceremonies for the 3rd Annual On Our Toes in the Hamptons Gala featuring Evidence Dance Company, at Nova's Ark in Bridgehampton. Syler who's used "to getting up at 3:30 a.m." and usually passes on such gigs is thrilled that this event is an early one – 4 p.m. – so she won't have to adjust her biological clock!
Stella McCartney is preggers again! She and husband Alasdhair Willis are expecting a new addition to the clan this winter but will still be there to show during Olympus Fashion Week. Brave girl. We're sure that former step-mommy
Heather Mills is thrilled for her and will be fence hopping the tents to send her regards.
At Star Room
Carmen Electra arrived in a Bentley and just after her was
David Blaine, who looked so unhappy – didn't crack a smile for the photogs – he still must be water logged.
