Southampton- Lucia's Angels has expanded its' service to our East End community. In addition to late stage breast cancer patients, Lucia's Angels will now also offer assistance to women and families afflicted with any late stage women's cancer, including breast, ovarian, cervical and uterine cancer.
Shortly after the board's unanimous decision to expand services, the number of Lucia's Angels recipients has doubled. "It has recently come to our attention that women with ovarian and other cancers don't have the same kind of support that our breast cancer patients do," said
Susie Roden, Vice President of Lucia's Angels.
You can do your part to support Lucia's Angels expanded cause by attending the third annual handbag sale. The sale will offer discounted new and lightly used designer and vintage handbags. Come early for the best selection. Stay late for the best bargains.
The sale will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the front lawn of the St. John's Episcopal Church on South Main Street, Southampton.
Lucia's Angels is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and has provided help and funding for babysitting, heating bills, health insurance premiums, automobile repair, groceries, ambulatory trips, therapeutic massage, salon services, and wigs. From special wishes like one more trip to the beach, to providing extra child-care, to the holding of a hand, Lucia's spirit and Angels will be there.
