Heart of the Hamptons East End Gala Celebration

The snow has started to melt and the minds of Long Islanders are starting to turn to the warmer days of summer which are fast approaching. The summer means only one thing, the 10th Annual American Heart Association, Heart of the Hamptons, East End Gala Celebration. This year's event will be taking place on Saturday, June 10 at the Diamond Ranch in Water Mill.

Jon Gruen, President of the Jason Foundation and founder of Gruen Optika of East Hampton, Huntington, Connecticut, and New York City, will once again serve as Chairman. Jon has been active in hosting prior events, and this fundraiser promises to be, if possible, even more exciting than last year's. The committee is proud to announce that this year's Gala will honor Dr. Valentin Fuster, Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and recipient of the American Heart Association Lewis A. Conner Memorial Award, and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Giuliani. Both Rudolph and Judith Giuliani are being honored for their outstanding public service and their dedication to fighting heart disease and stroke. This year's Master of Ceremonies will be Ed Bradley, CBS Correspondent for 60 Minutes.

The evening will consist of a VIP reception, a cocktail hour, silent auction, dinner, and dancing. The Gala is an upscale black tie optional social event that brings together New York City and Hamptons corporate, medical and community leaders.

Since 1924, the American Heart Association has helped protect people of all ages and ethnicities from the ravages of heart disease and stroke. These diseases, the nation's No. 1 and No. 3 killers, claim more than 910,000 American lives a year. The association invested nearly $474 million in fiscal year 2004-05 for research, professional and public education, advocacy, and community service programs so people across America can live stronger, longer!
