Citizens for Access Rights (CfAR) will present several rousing rounds that examine random, and not so random, topics during its annual winter Trivia Night on Friday, March 1.
Taking place at the Amagansett American Legion Hall, the friendly competition is open to teams of four, which can be prearranged or those that are teamless will be matched with fellow contestants.
“We look forward to another great night of challenging questions supporting our local beaches as we near the start of beach season,” Nicole Castillo, CfAR Secretary, relayed.
Proceeds will support CfAR’s mission of “protecting ALL forms of public access to our beaches and preserve the rights and traditions enjoyed by residents since colonial times, informing the public about attempts to restrict free and open access to our beaches through privatization or eliminating access, lobbying for legislation and government actions that support our goals and objectives, ensuring that full access and recreational opportunities are open to the greatest number of people, not just the privileged few, and promoting and encourage proper stewardship of our beaches and coastal waters.”
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the quizzing will commence at 7 p.m. Make sure you select your teammates wisely – as there will be a cash prize awarded to the group that comes in first place. Snacks and refreshments will be available.
“Look for some locally minded trivia this year and keep an eye on our Facebook page for some hints,” Castillo added.
To register in advance, send your team’s name to [email protected]. Admission to CfAR’s Trivia Night is $25 per person and $20 for 2019 CfAR members.
