The Hampton Bays Booster Club is hosting its annual Winterfest gathering on Saturday, January 26.
“Hampton Bays Booster Club is a not for profit group of parents and administrators whose objective is to raise funds for Hampton Bays student athletes and the community,” John Noonan explained.
The soiree will take place at Oakland’s Restaurant & Marina in Hampton Bays from 7 to 11 p.m.
“Winterfest is a cocktail party we do at Oakland’s every year to raise money,” he noted.
The evening will include hors d’oeuvres, a buffet, music from a DJ, dancing, a cash bar, a spectacular Chinese auction, and the chance to support local students.
“The majority of our fundraising goes to fund the Varsity Dinner and scholarships,” Noonan relayed. “Last year we gave $4,000 total to eight seniors.”
The Booster Club’s efforts focus on raising funds to champion the over 350 students that participate in sports, bestowing $4,000 in educational scholarships to graduating seniors, financing the annual Varsity Awards Ceremony & Dinner, sponsoring a Fall Bonfire & Rally and Spirit Weeks, assisting teams with funding during special events – such as tournaments or championships – for equipment, apparel or special requests, and bolstering Bayman pride throughout not just the schools, but also throughout the local community.
“We support all Hampton Bays teams,” he added. “We try to add to the experience for the student athletes.”
