Group for the East End (G4EE) – whose mission is to safeguard and rehabilitate the area’s environment through professional advocacy and education – is hosting its largest fundraising effort of the year on Saturday, June 9. G4EE’s annual Swing Into Summer Benefit will be held at The Bridge in Bridgehampton from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m.
“Because of the generous support of our donors we are making significant strides in protecting our drinking water, cleaning up our bays and harbors, saving land, and preserving the East End’s unique natural beauty for our children and their children to enjoy,” Group for the East End president, Bob DeLuca, expressed.
Hosted by Stéphane Samuel and Robert M. Rubin, benefit-goers will enjoy fresh, locally harvested oysters from West Robins Oyster Company, a signature sip from Qui Tequila, wines from Gabriella Wines, live music by Steel Impressions, an auction led by Lydia W. Fenet, senior vice president of Christie’s, dinner, and more. As the party revolves around championing the East End’s beauty, guests will also be treated to an enchanting Hamptons sunset – with spectacular water views.
Founded in 1972, Group for the East End acts as community “watchdogs” that focus on vital aspects – such as water quality, community planning, and protecting local wildlife and their habitats. In addition to conservation and advocacy efforts, G4EE also reaches out to the next generation to teach them about the importance of preserving and restoring the world around us.
“Despite significant progress over the last year, however, the fact is we still face many new challenges on the horizon,” DeLuca added. “As new contaminants threaten our water supply, and development pressure threatens the future of many once abundant wildlife species, the support raised at our summer gala remains critically important to our work and to the future quality of life that we cherish here on the East End.”
Tickets start at $1,000.
