Get ready for an evening filled with surprises at the South Fork Natural History Museum's Annual Summer Gala Benefit, A Journey into the Wild. This year's benefit will take place on Saturday, July 8, from 7 to 10 p.m., with a special VIP pre-gala Cocktail Reception from 6 to 7 p.m.

"We are very happy to celebrate our 28th year of Nature Education leadership presenting over 260 educational programs including our new Bilingual After-School Enrichment Science Program and our 3rd Annual Climate Change Forum," shared SoFo's Executive Director, Frank Quevedo.

This year's benefit will honor wildlife conservationists Alan Rabinowitz, Chris Fischer and Peter Beard and his wife, Nejma Beard. Rabinowitz, who is the CEO of Panthera, has dedicated his work to the conservation of the world's wild cats. Fischer is a pioneer in the study and tracking of great white and tiger sharks and also a founding chairman of Ocearch. Peter Beard is an artist, author and photographer whose work has been showcased in galleries around the world.

The pre-gala VIP Cocktail Reception will feature a special tasting menu by chefs Peter Ambrose from Endless Summer Grille, Marco Barilla from Insatiable Eats, Keith Davis from The Golden Pear, Greg Grossman from Oreya Restaurant & Lounge at the Capri, Kerry Heffernan from Grand Banks Restaurant, Matt Ketcham from Ketcham's Seafarm, David Loewenberg and Sam McCleland from The Beacon & Bell & Anchor and Andrew Schor from the East Hampton Grill.

Gala Reception attendees will enjoy farm-to-table and sustainable seafood hors d'oeuvres catered by Peter Ambrose, special guest surprises, auctions, an honoree presentation, dancing and a special guest performance by Livingston Taylor. In addition, some of the 2017 Alfa-Romeo cars will be on display courtesy of Brown's Alfa Romeo.

The Gala will support educational and environmental programming and community initiatives at the Museum.
