Get your red outfits ready for the 16th annual Long Island American Heart Association “Go Red For Women” Luncheon on Wednesday, February 15th from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Heart disease and stroke are the number one and number five killers of Long Island women. These diseases are very close to home, and for more than a decade, women have been fighting heart disease individually and together as part of the “Go Red For Women” movement. Approximately one woman dies every minute from this cardiovascular disease.
An estimated 43 million women in the U.S. are affected by cardiovascular diseases. By getting involved with “Go Red For Women,” you are advocating, fundraising, and saving millions of lives.
The 2017 American Heart Association “Go Red For Women” is nationally sponsored by Macy’s. Northwell Health is the Presenting “Go Red For Women” sponsor.
This year’s luncheon at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury will feature an elegant reception, silent auction, networking opportunities, and moving survivor stories. There will also be educational breakout sessions presented by recognized healthcare professionals, providing women with information, resources and hope in order to live stronger lives.
“Each year, more than 1,000 people attend this event,” said Kathy Munsch, Regional Vice President of the American Heart Association. “Our hope is that each one takes something away with them to make them heart healthy.”
Cary Carbonaro, Certified Financial Planner and Managing Director of United Capital, and Joy Fernandez, Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, Long Island will be honored at this year’s luncheon. The Community Honoree will once again be Premier Cardiology. Antonia M. Donohue, Chair of Banking and Financial Services of Japan Schlesinger LLP, is the Chair of the luncheon. Tamsen Fadal, Emmy Award Winning News Anchor at PIX 11 News, will be the afternoon’s emcee.
