On Saturday, July 9th, the 2nd Annual St. Jude Hope in the Hamptons
benefit will open its doors to approximately 600 people, as they come together from 6 to 10:30 p.m. to raise money for St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital to ensure that the families of patients can focus on helping their child get better, not bills. For over 50 years, St. Jude has been working hard to drive the overall survival rate of childhood cancer from 20 percent to 80 percent, and "won't stop working until no child dies from cancer".
"It takes a tremendous amount of energy and devotion to organize events like St. Jude Hope in the Hamptons
and we thank our dedicated co-chairs and committee members, partners and sponsors for the time and passion they have invested in making this evening a success for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital," said Laura Wallenstein of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "Because of the generous support from communities like this, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live."
The event was inspired and created by the grandparents of a 6-year-old St. Jude patient named Drew, who underwent chemotherapy for blood cancer at the hospital, and whose family was supported by the donations that benefits like this provide. In addition to founding the annual event, the Birdsall family will also be sharing their St. Jude testimonial with this year's attendees.

This year's benefit will be hosted by communications consultant KT McFarland in Water Mill. The "casual but chic" event will feature gourmet farm fresh food and cocktails, both live and silent auctions, and a performance by Majic Music.
Tickets begin at $300.
St. Jude Hope in the Hamptons will take place at 1143 Deerfield Road in Water Mill. For ticket or more information, visit stjude.org.
