This summer, Navy Beach in Montauk is once again teaming up with the Navy SEAL Foundation to commemorate the naval history of “The End” and to also raise awareness and funds for the Foundation.
On Saturday, June 18th, Navy Beach will hold a cocktail party in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation, which will serve as the official kick-off to a fourth season of fundraising efforts at the East End eatery. From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., attendees will be treated to live music by Nancy Atlas, wines provided by Opici Wine Group, beer from Montauk Brewing Co. and signature light bites from Navy Beach. The afternoon will also include a special visit from Long Island native RDML (SEAL) Thomas R. Richards, USN ret., former Commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, a highly decorated veteran, as well as Navy SEAL Foundation representatives, and local veterans.
“Navy Beach has been truly fortunate over the last three years to both work with Navy SEAL Foundation to assist the Naval Special Warfare community and to also be able to sponsor our efforts within East Hampton and Montauk where support for our Veterans and patriotic roots run deep,” said Navy Beach partner Frank Davis. “We enter our fourth year of fundraising for the SEALs with renewed enthusiasm and support from the local community.”
To further support the Foundation, the benefit will feature silent auction items that attendees can bid on and an array of raffles.
“Over the last four years, Navy Beach has worked tirelessly to raise funds and awareness in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation’s mission of service to the warriors and families of Naval Special Warfare,” noted Marc Wolf, Director of Development, New York Region, Navy SEAL Foundation. “Each year we are humbled by the generosity of Navy Beach and the Montauk and larger Hamptons’ community, as well as the spectacular beauty of the venue.”
Admission to the fundraiser is $40 for adults, $20 for veterans, and free for children under 16. To RSVP, email [email protected].
Throughout its 2016 season, Navy Beach will provide patrons with the chance to directly support the Foundation each time they visit the restaurant. Along with adding a $1 donation to each dining check, in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation, guests have the opportunity to increase the value of the donation. Since 2013, Navy Beach has raised $60,000 for the Foundation. To help jumpstart this year’s efforts, the restaurant will match the first $2,500 raised.
“The support generated is critical to those we serve and we cannot thank you enough,” added Wolf.
The Navy SEAL Foundation’s mission is to offer immediate and continued support and help to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community, their families, and the families of the fallen, wounded and also transitioning NSW veterans.
