A Walk On Water Holding Community Collaboration II During Inaugural East Coast Trip

A Walk On Water (AWOW), a family of waterman teaching the healing nature of the ocean to those in need, has teamed up with The Montauk Beach House (TMBH) to offer their services to the East Coast for the inaugural time. On Saturday, September 26th and Sunday, September 27th, families based on the East End with special needs children will be given the chance to partake in a weekend of confidence-building surf therapy at Ditch Plains Beach.

“As soon as I heard about AWOW and realized what a special and unique organization it was, I knew it was something that we needed to share with the East End,” said Walt Lindveld, Creative Director of The Montauk Beach House. “The local support has been overwhelmingly positive in making AWOW’s first trip to the East Coast a reality.”

Long Island Communities of Practice (LICoP) and Whalebone Media led the community outreach in search of participating families. Parents and siblings will also be able to experience the transformative qualities that the ocean can provide during the sea centric weekend with AWOW, which will be supported by CoreysWave instructors. The mission of the workshop is to impart a sense of confidence, accomplishment and joy in the participants. Left Hand Coffee, Happy Bowls and Ditch Witch will help attendees stay fueled with coffee, breakfast and lunch.

“A Walk On Water has always prided itself on working closely with the local community, its businesses and its surfers,” explained Pat Notaro III, Founder and President of AWOW. “We’re stepping into Montauk’s backyard for the first time and have been overwhelmed by the love and generosity we’ve received from this unique beach community.”

On Saturday, A Walk On Water will host Community Collaboration II, a fundraiser produced by Grandma’s House: Parties with a Purpose. From 4 to 9 p.m., partygoers at The Montauk Beach House can listen to live music from Kevin Angiulo and Dan Bailey Tribe with DJ sets by Nicky Paul from St. Lucia and Cole Ramstad, check out a local market with installations by Live In Color, La Mision Surf, SatlyVisionz, Martine and Juan, Girltauk, FIN Montauk, James Katsipis, Whalebone Creative, Ingrid Silva, Alexander Reinwald and Artbya, and enjoy organic drink mixers from The Montauk Juice Factory. 20 percent of art and specialty cocktail sales from the evening will support AWOW’s continued efforts.
