The Retreat, the East End’s only comprehensive domestic violence services agency, is hosting its 20th Annual All Against Abuse benefit, “Roaring 20’s Summer Soirée,” on Saturday, June 20th from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Attendees are invited to join The Retreat at the Ross School Lower Campus Field House in Bridgehampton for a 1920’s themed evening featuring a live and silent auction, music by DJ MKL of Jarrell Entertainment, and cuisine by Chef Colette of Inn Spot on the Bay.
An honorary “Roaring 20’s Summer Soirée” committee of notable names includes Renee Zellweger, Martha Stewart, Debra Messing, Liev Schreiber, Ina Garten, Lorraine Bracco, Blythe Danner, Susan Lucci, and Ann Liguori.
The fundraiser will include an award presentation to Ann and Constantine Clemente, with guest speaker Amy Cerullo. “Roaring 20’s Summer Soirée” will also pay tribute to the traditional “plate auction” with the creation of three plates painted by East End artists. The live auction will include highlights such as one week in the Disney family’s Coolmain Castle in Ireland for 20 people, a garden tour and cocktail party at Ina Garten’s East Hampton barn, tickets to a Boston Red Sox versus New York Yankees game, including a tour of the stadium, attending batting practice on the field, and a personalized scoreboard message, five days in Costa Rica, a weekend at Round Hill Villas in Jamaica, and artwork from April Gornik, Dan Rizzie, Hans Van de Bovenkamp and others.
All Against Abuse, previously called Artists Against Abuse, was renamed in 2015 to encourage the entire East End community to support the cause, not just solely artists. The annual benefit has raised over $2 million, in support of The Retreat’s mission. The East Hampton-based organization has been providing domestic violence services and education to families on the East End of Long Island for 28 years.
