By far the greatest part about living on the East End is being minutes away from some of the best beaches in the world. On Friday, October 24, 2014, join the Eastern Long Island Chapter of Surfrider Foundation for the 2nd Annual “Don’t Rock (or Bag) The Beach!” benefit at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett. During the evening, learn about the Foundation’s latest efforts to protect local beaches and improve water quality while listening to an original acoustic groove rock set from local favorites, Jettykoon.
The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit grassroots organization devoted to guarding the earth’s oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful worldwide network that includes over 250,000 supporters, activists and members. The Eastern Long Island chapter is committed to maintaining and acquiring beach and ocean access rights, preserving the coastline and improving the overall quality of Long Island’s coastal environment. Recent campaigns include Downtown Montauk Shoreline Stabilization, Save Ditch Plains / Stop ED 40, State Park Access, and Montauk Lighthouse Seawall.
The 2nd Annual “Don’t Rock (or Bag) The Beach!” begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and $10 for students.
