Summer means garage sale season.
And on Saturday, July 27, the Rolls Royce of garage sales comes back to the Hamptons.
The 16th annual Super Saturday benefiting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is every fashonistas dream. With over 200 designers participating including Donna Karan, Theory, alice + olivia, Robert Rodriguez, Diane von Furstenberg, Helmut Lang, Joie, JBrand and Ralph Lauren. For the sixth consecutive year, the “Designers A to Zoe” booth by Rachel Zoe will feature luxury designers such as J. Mendel, Chloe, Proenza Schouler and Etro among others.
The OCRF is one of the oldest and largest charities in the United States. With a mission, according to their website, “to fund scientific research and more effective more effective identification, treatment, and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer, as well as related educational and support initiatives.”
Super Saturday was fist launched in 1988 by Donna Karan and the late Liz Tilberis, beloved Editor-In-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar and President of OCRF. Karan continues her involvement to this day, as a host and a sponsor. InStyle has been a sponsor and host of Super Saturday since 2001 and Kelly Ripa began hosting the event in 2004.
The day long fundraiser for OCRF has something for everyone. While the shoppers in the family are busy battling it our for sales of the year, kids can go enjoy their own carnival and activities that include Camp Divalysscious where kids can enjoy Wendy The Pipe Cleaner Lady, Face Painting, Balloon Artistry, s’mores making and special performances from Miss Pinkie and FabuLyss Musical acts by KBC Kids. Space Odyssey East will roll out the hottest video games available to play in the arcade mecca.
Activities available to attendees also include a fun photo booth hosted by Robert Rodriguez; pampering, relaxing and refreshing at the InStyle Cabana; the Color Club Color Bar offering guests manicures, pedicures and nail art; The Moroccan Oil Oasis Express Spa and Styling Bar where shoppers can experience luxurious, oil-infused body and hair products through complimentary beauty services, signature spa massages and deluxe product samples; and Psychic Readings with Betsy Wahmann. Steve Porter, internationally renowned DJ and music producer will provide the entertainment.
Luxury raffles will also be held at the event. Charitybuzz will host a special Super Saturday auction from July 10 through July 30 with amazing one of a kind VIP experiences, celebrity meet and greets and so much more! Bidding will take place live at the event or at www.charitybuzz.com.
QVC is back to broadcast live “QVC Presents Super Saturday Live,” a live broadcast starting at 2 p.m. It will offer viewers nationwide a taste of what Super Saturday is, and chances to purchase purchase premier fashion, beauty, jewelry, accessories and home items for half the suggested retail price, with net proceeds benefiting OCRF.
For all pinners out there who want to join the cause, QVC has also continued their Pinterest campaign for the second year in a row with their benefiting OCRF. QVC has launched its dedicated Pinterest campaign, “Pin It Forward,” designed to generate awareness and funds for OCRF’s cause. The multimedia retailer has created a Super Saturday Board, where followers are encouraged to pin with a purpose from June 27th through the event. For every pin, QVC will donate $1 to OCRF, up to $10,000.
In 2012, Super Saturday raised over $3.5 million for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
Super Saturday 16 will take place Nova’s Ark Project in Water Mill on Saturday, July 27 from 1 to 6 p.m with a special preview hour beginning at 12 p.m.
