New York City - On Wednesday, February 29 at Desmond's Restaurant on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, the
Children's Museum of the East End (
CMEE), an interactive children's museum on the East End of Long Island, will hold its annual "CMEE In The City" celebration, an intimate and festive dinner party with Honorary Chairs such as
Piers Morgan and
Donny Deutsch.
At "CMEE In the City", guests will be entertained by
Bryan Batt of the award-winning television series "Mad Men," and will honor the impactful work of CMEE and two of the Museum's greatest and dedicated supporters,
Heidi and
Jonathan Wald. There will also be a live auction, with offerings including a CNN tour and taping with Piers Morgan, and front row tickets and VIP passes for eight to the Big Apple Circus, including a meet and greet with the ringmaster.
"We are thrilled to be able to host our upcoming event in New York City, and see so much support emerging for the Children's Museum of the East End. The event will allow us to continue our goal of upgrading the exhibitions and school programs that touch the lives of more than 50,000 visitors annually. It's all about enriching the lives of children and families and strengthening our communities," said
Amy Tarr, President of CMEE's Board of Trustees.
"I'm a big fan of the Children's Museum of the East End," says Deutsch. "In this economic climate, I'm delighted that a nonprofit like CMEE is able to continue offering great programs and services to benefit the children of the community."
About CMEE
Since opening in October of 2005 with over 7,000 square feet of interactive, hands-on exhibits, program and performance space, the Children's Museum of the East End (CMEE) has become the most visited museum in Eastern Long Island. Described by Museum patrons as "a community gathering place" and "a hub for children," CMEE is committed to enriching the lives of children and families by promoting learning through play and to helping meet local challenges by collaborating with other East End organizations, such as Long Island Head Start, to solve problems and strengthen the community.
