Doodle For Hunger XII

New York City - On Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 6 p.m., colorful and original signed works of art, or "doodles," created by actors, artists, politicians, and sports icons will be auctioned off at "Doodle For Hunger XII," the annual charity auction hosted by St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters, which feed and shelter over 9,000 underprivileged families in New York each week. This special event, hosted by Fox 5's Ernie Anastos, will include a cocktail party, Doodle preview, silent and live auctions led by acting great Tony Lo Bianco. The event will take place at Pier 60 Chelsea Piers.

This year's Doodle for Hunger will be a tribute to the late Bill Gallo, legendary Daily News cartoonist with special presentation to the Gallo Family by Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. The Guest of Honor will be Geraldo Rivera, Fox News channel anchor of "Geraldo At Large," Senior War Correspondent and senior columnist for Fox News Latino. Margo and John Catsimatidis are the Presenting Sponsors.

Doodles by Betty White, John Travolta, Jeff Bridges, Donald Trump, Bill O'Reilly, Yogi Berra, Jane Lynch, Blake Lively, Matthew Morrison, Rod Gilbert, Jodie Foster, Brooke Shields, Dirk Nowitzke, Nathan Lane, Manolo Blahnik, and hundreds of others will be up for bid.

St. Francis Food Pantries & Shelters is established to alleviate the physical and emotional hunger of the poor and needy in a dignified and supportive manner. St. Francis Food Pantries & Shelters takes a comprehensive approach in providing and supporting services that eradicate not only hunger, but the structural causes of hunger. St. Francis Food Pantries & Shelters supports a network of charitable programs that provide a broad range of services for those in need, including the provision of food, clothing, shelter, and related social services for the poor.
