Bridgehampton - On Sunday, September 4, at 6 p.m., renowned Greek Chef Maria Loi will showcase Greek desserts at Blue Dream Event, hosted Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons, which will benefit the Children's Tumor Foundation. The event will take place at The Sharing Grounds, a private estate in Bridgehampton on Long Island.

The event will be attended by Loi, Michael Psilakis, chef and restaurateur, Creative Edge Parties, DJ Jus Ske, Yianni Papastefanou & Orchestra, George Stephanopoulos, Honorary Chair, ABC's chief political correspondent and anchor of "Good Morning America," Father Alexander Karloutsos, John Catsimatidis, Senator Bob Menendez, Michael Jaharis, Peter Kalikow, Stuart Suna, Dennis Mehiel, Congressman Tim Bishop, Michael Loeb, Peter J. Pappas, George Tsunis, Bruce Mosler, Bob Simon ("60 Minutes"), Ed and Tricia Nixon Cox. Music will be provided by Jus-Ske, among others.

In addition to serving the spiritual, educational, and cultural needs of its congregants, the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons has made philanthropy to the broader community among its top priorities. As part of the church's inaugural Blue Dream event, Loi will be serving the dessert course, which will feature a variety of pastries from the different Greek provinces.

As one of the top chefs in Greece, Loi will open Loi, her first U.S. restaurant in Manhattan this fall, which will feature fresh, authentic Greek cuisine. For many years she hosted It's "All Greek!", a cooking show on Greece's leading TV network, and also wrote several cookbooks including "Ancient Dining," the official cookbook of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Loi is currently in the process of developing a new cookbook, as well as a cooking show to debut in the U.S.

The Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons will donate 70 percent of the net proceeds of the gala to the Children's Tumor Foundation. The remaining 30 percent will go to the construction of a new community complex for the church.
