New York City - The We Are Family Foundation® (WAFF), the nonprofit organization founded by legendary songwriter and producer Nile Rodgers, prepares for its annual gala at the Manhattan Center's Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, on Tuesday, October 26.

Actress Rosie Perez and political satirist Mo Rocca will co-host the action-packed event, which will include a cocktail reception (with music styled by Donna D'Cruz), dinner (prepared by Chef Don Pintabona of Valentino's on the Green and Chef Joe DiMaggio, Jr., with exquisite wines courtesy of Oriel Wines), and a live auction (featuring legendary music memorabilia and priceless experience packages). Additionally, the foundation's Music for a Cause™ will give guests the opportunity to purchase Apple iTunes mystery gift cards with the chance to win a number of exciting gifts.

WAFF embodies the message made famous by Desmond Tutu, If you want change, you must be the change. Following in this path, the Foundation will present three awards at the Gala Celebration Pastor James Wuye and Imam Muhammad Ashafa will receive the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Peacemaker Award for their efforts in promoting peace through interfaith understanding; Norma and Russ Ramsey will be honored with the Visionary Award for their philanthropic contributions in education, healthcare, and the arts; and Jackson Browne will receive the Humanitarian Award for his commitment to spreading peaceful messages through music and improving human welfare on a global basis. Browne will also perform later in the evening along with a line-up of musical guests including Nile Rodgers and CHIC and Little Steven Van Zandt from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band.

Funds raised at the Gala will support WAFF's mission and programs, including Three Dot Dash - WAFF's signature program to support teen leaders around the world who are actively working on projects that address basic human needs and promoting a more peaceful society.
