Ellen Hermanson Foundation, sponsor of Ellen's Run, will celebrate 15 years of leading the fight against breast cancer on the East End with a Gala party, HEAT, on Saturday evening, August 21. Honorary Event chairpersons are
Kim Cattrall and
Edie Falco. Event Chairpersons are

Lisa Schifter Greenberg and the honorees are
Steven Klein,
Hope Klein Langer and
Donna Karan. A special feature of the party is an online auction by charitybuzz.com that includes four VIP tickets to a
Lady Gaga concert with the opportunity to meet her. HEAT is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the home of
Steven Klein, 1971 Scuttlehole Road, in Bridgehampton with the entrance around the corner on Lumber Lane.
Ellen's Run will hold its 15th annual 5K race/walk at 9 a.m. Sunday, August 22, starting and ending at
Southampton Hospital. Ellen's Run is the principal funder of the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Southampton Hospital, which serves the entire East End of Long Island where breast cancer diagnosis and mortality rates are among the highest in the state. "The Run is one of the best events in the Hamptons year in and year out," said
Julie Ratner, President of The Ellen Hermanson Foundation.
The race/walk starts and ends at Southampton Hospital's Parrish Hall on Herrick Road. The race, one of the largest on the South Fork, is sanctioned by the Long Island Branch of USA Track and Field.
The top three female and male runners will be awarded a trophy and within each age category, the top three female and male finishers will be awarded a medal. The first three female and male race walkers will be awarded a medal. There is a trophy and special prize donated by Tiffany & Co. for the first-place breast cancer survivor and a trophy for the largest team.
Pre-registration for Ellen's Run is $25 per person ($20 for children under 12 and adults 65 or older) and $35 the day of the race for everyone. Runners can wear signs that read, "I am running in memory of. . ." or "I am running in honor of. . ." Early registration is Saturday, August 21 at 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and race day registration is 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., both at Parrish Hall.
Ellen's Run helps fund projects that provide educational outreach and early detection to under-served communities of women, psychosocial support to breast cancer survivors and their families on Eastern Long Island, the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center at Southampton Hospital and Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert in New York City.
