Dim All The Lights As Hamptons Night Heat Up

Southampton - Another whirlwind weekend here in the Hamptons, and after running to and fro all weekend, ending up at Solé East in Montauk on Sunday night for their Summer Sunday Classics, and catching a few surf movies under the stars following a delightful dinner was just a fantastic way to end the weekend.

Solé East has teamed up with the Hamptons International Film Festival to screen notable surf films chosen by photographer Bruce Weber, so following a delicious dinner of swordfish and scallops prepared to perfection, (and do try the hummus with warm pita bread and duck tacos too - thanks to Anna for all her attention), and after sipping on a tasty "Cooper" we headed to the comfortable lawn area where chairs were set up and the large outdoor screen ruled the night for a viewing of "Supernatural" (1990) and "Savage Beast" (1992), by director, artist and surfer Herbie Fletcher. Fletcher is known for revitalizing longboarding in the 1970s, and starting tow-ins in the 1980s. He introduced modern aerial surfing through his film making in the early 1990s, and these two films were key to the radical, explosive aerial movement - great films and great fun. Head over to Solé East on Sunday nights for more upcoming films, as the restaurant also offers a $20 "All you can eat" BBQ menu. Cowabunga Baby!

If you couldn't catch a boat ride on Saturday night to be out on the water for the fireworks, East Hampton Point provided a perfect viewing spot for the annual Boys Harbor Fireworks by Grucci. This majestic display of pyrotechnics never disappoints. A lovely private party was held in the bar area, and there was plenty of open areas and sky for everyone to enjoy this favorite annual event. As many headed down to the beach area, the restaurant dimmed the lights and cranked up the music so all could just sit back, relax and enjoy - what a treat.

The hospital serves more than 25,000 residents and visitors annually on Long Island's South Fork. Tiffany & Co. will serve as the Honorary Jewelry Chair, Barclay's Wealth will serve as the Honorary Corporate Chair, Cushman and Wakefield will serve as the Honorary Commercial Real Estate Chair and Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate will serve as the Honorary Residential Real Estate Chair. The highly-anticipated Southampton Hospital's 53rd Annual Summer Party will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2011 under the tents at the corner of Wickapogue and Old Town Roads in Southampton, New York.

The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research presented "Nobody Does It Better," a benefit concert by the legendary American icon Carly Simon last week in Manhasset. ABC-TV's John Quinones acted as emcee, where over 1,000 people attended. The annual event took place at the Planting Fields Arboretum in the State Historic Park in Oyster Bay, Long Island, and raised a record-breaking $1.2 million earmarked for research.

The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research is part of the North Shore-LIJ Health System. The goal of the evening was to raise awareness about research and the work that the Feinstein Institute conducts in the fields of lupus, sepsis, schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, arthritis, cancer, substance abuse and heart and lung disease.
