Southampton - Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk County is honored to have the support of the Southampton Chamber of Commerce and as a member, they are excited to create "Magic on Main Street" in Southampton Village this Holiday Season - a Holiday White Light Display along Main Street, Southampton to honor the children of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Suffolk ;County.

On November 26, 2011, beginning at 1 p.m., Main Street will be alive with holiday music, horse-drawn carriage rides, refreshments and of course a special visit from ;Santa himself!

In celebration of wishes come true, a Magical Main ;Street Lighting Ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. when a Suffolk County wish child will be present to "flip the switch" in front of the Southampton Chamber of Commerce office. Main Street will then stay illuminated until January 31, 2012.

The mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is simple, to grant wishes to children from 2 1/2 to 18 years of age who are challenged by a life-threatening medical condition, to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Foundation's goal is to increase public awareness on a national basis to ensure that every eligible child has his or her wish granted. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a volunteer driven, non-profit organization supported by generous contributions from local community members, foundations, corporations, schools and religious groups. The Foundation was founded in 1980 and is comprised of 62 national chapters and 43 international affiliates. Together, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has fulfilled more than 200,000 wishes. The Suffolk County chapter was founded in 1983 and since then has created magic for over 2000 local children-many of whom have beaten the odds.
