Local "makers" will employ their expertise to conduct several exhilarating workshops during The Peconic Community School's third annual Maker Fair & Food Truck Rally on Saturday, April 14. Taking place at the School's Aquebogue campus, this year's Fair will feature interactive workshops, hands-on crafts and demos, and a new addition - food trucks.

Starting at 10 a.m., the community is welcome to investigate innovation, originality and resourcefulness - inspired by the Maker movement. The family-friendly festival will encompass something that intrigues the entire family - from robotics and legos to coding and felting to potion making and cardboard building, and more.

The part science fair, part county fair is open to all-ages that find themselves intrigued by tech, crafting, tinkering, engineering, science, art, and other similar topics.

When attendees need a break from the hands-on projects and demonstrations, they can enjoy tasty eats from several East End traveling eateries. "We are excited to add Food Trucks to the Fair this year," Co-Executive Director of Peconic Community School, Liz Casey Searl shared. "We'll be welcoming Noah's on the Go, Chiddy's Cheesesteaks, Tres Hermanos, and 2 Greeks to Go to our parking lot so that fair attendees can have lunch and come right back in for more fun!"

As little ones dive into demos and activities, adults can enlighten themselves about the Maker movement and Peconic Community School.

"This year we will also have a drone, Glamp Shots Photo Booth, a Home-built Hoverboard, and PCS Cardboard Arcade, built by the students of PCS," added Casey Searl. "It's sure to be the best fair yet!"

Maker Fair participants will include Vincent Sawyer, Everlastings by Diana, Oliver & Adelaide, Heathers Herbals, Lyrical Children, Think Big!, Don Garside, Mr. Waffle of Scheer Brilliance, PCS Lego Club, Naturally Curious Children, Tesla Science Center, Hamptons Painted, Suffolk Community College IT expert Christina Johnson, Teddy Hall, Tortured Copper, Agathe Snow, Glamp Shots, Card Board Building Station, and PCS Cardboard Arcade.

Additionally, the fair will include a fishbowl auction - with a variety of exceptional prizes and an exciting door prize will be awarded to one lucky guest.

Admission to the third annual Maker Fair & Food Truck Rally is a suggested donation of $10 per family. The Fair will conclude at 2 p.m. All proceeds to benefit Peconic Community School, an independent school for children ages 3-11 whose mission is to foster reflective, resilient and compassionate learners in a safe, caring and trusting environment.

Peconic Community School is located at 269 Main Road in Aquebogue. For more information, visit www.peconiccommunityschool.org.
