On Saturday, December 3rd, the North Fork will be filled with a little extra holiday cheer when the 2016 Cutchogue Holiday House Tour comes to town.
"Start the holiday season with the Cutchogue Holiday House Tour, six stops in all - four elegantly dressed bed and breakfasts, the historic New Suffolk two room School House and the Cutchogue New Suffolk Historical Council," shared Joyce and Bob Barry of The Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast, who note the afternoon will include "celebrity chefs preparing tidbits, wine tasting by local vineyards, gift shops, music, tree lighting, and so much more."
The self-guided tour will cover Fig & Olive Bed and Breakfast, North Fork Guest House, Sannino Vineyard Bed & Breakfast and The Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast, as well as New Suffolk Historical School House and Cutchogue New Suffolk Historical Council. At each stop, attendees will enjoy tastings by local vineyards that will be paired with dazzling bites created by notable chefs, including The Poetry of Cooking
author John Ross, North Fork Kitchen & Garden
author Peter Berley, Christie Macdonald of Bay Breeze Bistro and Jon Lopresti of Village Cheese Shop. Bedell Cellars
, Sannino Vineyard, Scarola Vineyards and Sparkling Pointe
are among featured wineries.
"The Cutchogue Holiday House Tour is such a special way to step outside the busyness of the season and immerse yourself in experiencing it," said author Yvonne Lieblein. "I suggest getting friends together and making this your annual holiday outing."
Along with sumptuous sips and fare, attendees can do a little seasonal shopping, as local artists and merchants like Crushed Olive, North Fork Brittle, North Fork Natural, Phoebe & Belle and The Farmhouse B&B Gifts will be featured at the stops. Sadie Heston on violin will set a relaxed mood and the unique music of singer/songwriter Bob Blatchley will be available for purchase.
Additionally, tourgoers can meet local authors, including Behind the Bottle
author Eileen Duffy, Water Towers of the North Fork
author Marella Ostrowski, Wheelhouse Cafe
author Yvonne Lieblein and Cutchogue New Suffolk
author Zac Studenroth. Little Miss Mattituck will also be onsite to greet visitors.
Since it is the season of giving, tourgoers are asked to bring a donation for Toys for Tots that will benefit North Fork families in need, and a portion of the proceeds from the 2016 Cutchogue Holiday House Tour will be donated to local charities.
"What could be more festive than exploring each splendidly decorated stop, enjoying delicious food and wine, shopping for gifts from local artists and merchants and knowing you're supporting local charities, too?" asked Lieblein.
The 2016 Cutchogue Holiday House Tour will begin at 11 a.m. with the last entry at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $75.
