Twenty-nine national artists have been selected to be featured in Alex Ferrone Gallery's Elemental Light Juried Exhibition, juried by Lisa Chalif of The Heckscher Museum of Art.

Works selected for this exhibition demonstrate that photography's essence is light and capture the play of dust-speckled beams, graphics of shadows, moods of the Golden Hour, and translating colors of artificial light.

"The photographers whose works were selected present an expansive view of the theme from beautiful documentary images to experimental photographs, all exploring the very nature of light itself," said Chalif, who has organized dozens of exhibitions that focus on various aspects of the Museum's permanent collection, as well as loan exhibits on a diverse range of subjects such as experimental photography, environmental art, appropriation, art and the automobile, and occasional solo exhibitions of Long Island artists, including photographer Joseph Szabo.

Artists included in Elemental Light Juried Exhibition include Yuki Abiko, Anthony Arote, Patricia Beary, Patricia Bender, Ennid Berger, McCormick Brubaker, Dennis Chalkin, Rodolfo Choperena, Roma Donovan, Robert Dutruch, Rich Faron, David Foshee, Ray Germann, Cindy Grimm, Gretchen Henninger, George Howlett, Margaret Hyde, Eva Iacono, Katherine Liepe-Levinson, Joanna Madloch, Joanna McCarthy, David McCrae, Mike McLaughlin, Art Papayanopulos, Blair Seagram, Brian Sesack, Jackie Stevens, Kjell van Sice, and John Williams.

"We are very pleased to be guided by Ms. Chalif's expert curating eye for this special exhibition," shared Director, Alex Ferrone.

Elemental Light Juried Exhibition will be on display Saturday, July 8 through Sunday, July 30, with an Opening Reception on Saturday, July 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. where guests will enjoy a toast of champagne and hors d'oeuvres with the artists.
