This year, the North Fork is in for an exciting new experience as the inaugural North Fork TV Festival
launches at the historic Greenport Theater on Saturday, August 20th. The event will celebrate the evolution of television, drawing attention to independent television, and bringing together the creative minds of television executives, directors, writers, and actors.
"There's something really cool about television right now," said Artistic Director of the North Fork TV Festival Jerry Foley. "The boundary separating film and TV has completely dissolved, the production of original ideas is no longer exclusive to traditional networks and technology has unleashed a flood of exciting opportunities for independent storytellers."
The North Fork TV Festival is part of SeriesFest, the international television and content festival that is annually held in Denver, Colorado. At the event's East End expansion, there will be screenings offered, as well as panels and discussions with some of the top independent TV creators.
"We're in the middle of a wonderful disruption and this is the perfect time to showcase television as its own art form," added Foley. "The North Fork TV Festival will screen several clever and entertaining pilots, while providing a great excuse to drop in on a part of Long Island with undiscovered charms of its own. It's going to be a fun day and I'm excited to be part of it."

Noah Doyle, the Founder of the North Fork TV Festival, is excited about the opportunity to bring the future of TV to its natural geographic home, stating "New York is the center of so much of what we watch on TV these days, and we want New York to be the area that celebrates the independent producers who are creating much of that content. Each year more and more independent TV pilots are finding their way into our homes and into our lives. The North Fork TV Festival aims to bring that independently produced content to the greater New York media market."
