is hosting an intimate Valentine's Day concert featuring bluegrass band, Eastbound Freight. The veteran group has been showcasing their talent on Long Island and the New York Metropolitan area for a quarter-century.
"Their vocal and instrumental performances have been honed to a comfortable burnish that can only be achieved by 25 years of playing music together," said American fiddler Kenny Kosek about the band.
Consisting of John Brisotti, Dave Thompson, Bill DeTurk, Bruce Barry, and Bill Ayasse, Eastbound Freight's members share a life-long appreciation for bluegrass and a fondness for the big sounds of the original groups. They've performed at venues including The Lincoln Center Out-Of-Doors Festival in New York City
, the Inter Media Arts Center in Huntington, and the Harry Chapin Memorial Stage in Huntington, and have also been featured during live radio broadcasts on WBAZ
, WKCR, and WUSB, as well as National Public Radio's Acoustic Connections program.
Eastbound Freight is performing at Sylvester Manor on Saturday, February 14th at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20.
