Elsie Boskamp

Artwork by Steven Schreiber, Katherine Liepe-Levinson, Ray Germann, Rich Faron, Harold Naideau, and Gerry Giliberti.

Perception, a unique group exhibition, will feature the work of 10 renowned photographers from the Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery at The Barn Gallery of Jedediah Hawkins Inn. An artist's reception will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 and the exhibit will remain open through October 14, 2014.

Inspired by famous photographer Ansel Adams, participating artists present photographs displaying various environmental elements and their artistic awareness in interpreting certain scenes. The exhibit is based upon Adams long-accepted beliefs on the art. "Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution," Adams once said.

Exhibit attendees can expect to find a wide range of both black-and-white and colored photos featuring many different subjects, styles and techniques. Various artists will also present photographs in which alternative processes were utilized, including works printed on aluminum, Italian watercolor paper and other distinctive materials.

Contributing artists include Michael Edelson, Rich Faron, Scott Farrell, Alex Ferrone, Ray Germann, Gerry Giliberti, Katherine Liepe-Levinson, Harold Naideau, Jim Sabiston and Steven Schreiber.

The Barn Gallery of Jedediah Hawkins Inn is located at 400 Jamesport Avenue in Jamesport. For more information, visit www.alexferrone.com.
