East Hampton - The East Hampton Town Republican Committee (EHTRC) announced its candidates for the upcoming East Hampton Town election.
Making the announcement,
Trace Duryea said, "As Chair of the East Hampton Town Republican Committee, I am proud to announce our candidates for the 2011 East Hampton Town election. Supervisor
Bill Wilkinson will head the Team of successful professionals who bring a full spectrum of views, life experiences and diversified resumes to this campaign."
Steven Gaines, a best-selling author, journalist and co-founder of the Hamptons International Film Festival and,
Richard Haeg, a decorated Vietnam war hero, recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, former undercover detective and, holder of a U.S. Coast Guard Masters license seek the two vacant Council positions on the Town Board.
Stephen Lynch, an experienced local businessman, with almost 30 years as a driveway and excavation contractor is running for Superintendent of Highways.
Duryea commented further, "The 2011 Wilkinson Team of intelligent and accomplished individuals, when elected, will continue the reform practices of fiscal accountability, lower taxes and, more efficient and open government; strategies that Wilkinson ushered in when he was elected Supervisor just 16 months ago." She continued, "We look forward to a vigorous campaign that is respectful of the candidates and voters; a campaign that focuses on the critical issues."
