Bridgehampton - On Saturday, October 10, Last Chance Animal Rescue Fund held a "Fall Fetch" fundraiser to raise funds for pregnant and nursing dogs that are scheduled to be euthanized. The event resulted in homes for 20 dogs, and was sponsored by the ever gracious Cliffeton Green, Senior Vice President with Corcoran, at her home.

"There are so many pregnant dogs who wind up in high kill shelters," Director/Rescue Ranger Whitney Brooke Knowlton has previously stated. "They are usually not rescued due to the expense and time that is required to properly care for them and their litter. We also see many nursing dogs who don't find rescue for the same reason. These are beautiful dogs who are highly adoptable, we just need to be afforded the opportunity to save them."

"Until you have looked in the eyes of a senior dog and learned their wisdom, held a sick or injured dog in your arms and felt their pain, or had your face smothered in sloppy kisses from a puppy, you can't possibly know the life of a rescuer. We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces. It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within." We ARE rescue says Knowlton.

All ages - human and canine - were on hand on Saturday.

Last Chance Animal Rescue Fund is a charitable, not-for-profit organization, created to save the lives of animals. The organization states, "We rescue animals that are located in "KILL" facilities and underwrite the costs of relocating them to "NO KILL" facilities in hopes of finding them a forever family. We work with local veterinarians for spay-neuter/medical services until permanent placement is secured into a pre-screened loving home. We depend on donations to continue to save these helpless loving animals from being killed." The organization is dedicated to saving as many animals as possible.
