Southampton - Southampton Hospital has announced the promotion of Robert Ross to the position of vice president of Community and Government Relations, effective immediately.

Ross has served as director of Community Relations and assistant to the president since joining the hospital in January 2008. Prior to his employment with the hospital, he served for six years as the Southampton Town deputy supervisor.

In his position, Ross will continue to develop and strengthen Southampton Hospital's relationships with the various community, governmental and public service agencies with whom the hospital interacts. According to Southampton Hospital President and CEO Robert S. Chaloner, "His promotion demonstrates the high value we as an organization place on our responsibility to be a good community citizen and steward of the vital healthcare services role entrusted to us by our communities."
