Congressman Tim Bishop along with FEMA and the US Small Business Administration are hosting a FEMA information meeting on Thursday, January 10, at the Rocky Point VFW Post. The meeting will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. During the meeting FEMA representatives will make a presentation on the Individual Assistance program, which provides grant funding for damages not covered by homeowners’ or flood insurance. They will also be available to answer questions or concerns about the program as well as other assistance that may be available to households. Representatives of the US Small Business Administration will be available to discuss low-interest loans for businesses affected by the storm.
The deadline for registration for FEMA’s Individual Assistance program and the U.S. Small Business Administration Loan program is January 28, 2013. Residents with damage from Superstorm Sandy who have not applied for FEMA Assistance yet or whose initial application was denied, are encouraged to attend the meeting to be to complete the application process before the upcoming deadline.
The informational meeting is being held in cooperation with Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker and Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Jane Bonner. The Rocky Point VFW Post is located at 109 King Road in Rocky Point. For more information visit timbishop.house.gov.
