East Hampton - Joe Realmuto the executive chef of all Honest Man properties including Nick & Toni's, Rowdy Hall, La Fondita, Townline BBQ, and Nick & Toni's Café, has been awarded the inaugural Community First Award from the Press News Group, based in Southampton.

Joe was nominated by Doreen Quaranto of Most Holy Trinity Church in East Hampton. Joe was nominated based on his enormous give back to the community. Some of his initiatives include coordinating the community soup dinner monthly for Most Holy Trinity Church; spearheading the Seedlings Project teaching children about slow food and the importance of buying, farming and sourcing produce locally; helping to organize the weekly Farmer's Market held in the Nick & Toni's parking lot; and teaching local children cooking techniques in local schools. "I've taken a lot from this community and I just want to give a little back" commented Joe.
