Riverhead - The Suffolk County National Bank (SCNB), along with co-sponsor Kandell, Farnworth & Pubins, CPAs, has joined forces with Plum TV, Channel 18 and Peconic Public Broadcasting, 88.3 WPPB-FM to develop a new East End business show. Yes, it is The Real Deal!
Produced by Plum TV, Channel 18, the concept for the new show was a collaboration between the creative team at Plum and
Sandra Novick, SVP, Marketing, SCNB. Novick, a fan of Plum's signature business show, "Beyond the Boardroom," felt that a local business show, featuring East End businesses that had achieved success and acclaim within their respective industries and the East End community would be of interest to other business owners, residents, and visitors in our market.
Their challenges, achievements, and the "human" side of the success equation would be explored. The Plum TV team was thinking along the same lines. Novick noted that sponsorship of a program that highlighted business on the East End, was a perfect fit for SCNB, "the bank for business in Suffolk County." With the idea "percolating," she approached partners
David Kandell, CPA,
Ronald Farnworth, CPA, and
Steven Pubins, CPA to learn their level of interest in joining as co-sponsor. Immediately, they were, "in." Kandell commented, "There has been considerable emphasis in the news on businesses that have done things 'wrong,' or have failed altogether. In our practice, we work with a number of successful businesses that demonstrate what it takes to achieve success through economic cycles. We feel it will benefit other local businesses to hear about East End success stories."
A local business show, produced by the local TV station, and supported by local sponsors demanded a local host. Unanimously, the East End's own award-winning
Bonnie Grice was selected. Grice jumped right in, agreeing to host the shows and contributing to the creative development of the show format. Plum TV, Channel 18 has partnered with Peconic Public Broadcasting providing the audio of the show to be aired on the local NPR station, 88.3 WPPB-FM.
So tune in on April 1, 2011, for the debut of the "The Real Deal," on the East End, which features two extraordinary East End partnerships. Show one will air at various times April to June 2011. The second show in the series is scheduled to air in July through September 2011.
Scheduling information will be posted on
