Riverhead - The wonderful staff at
Maureen's Haven, the local homeless shelter operated under the auspices of Peconic Community Council, Inc., have issued an appeal to the public for goods to assist in their quest to keep those in need warm, safe and happy during this winter season.
The mission of Maureen's Haven is "[That] everyone has the right to a suitable place to live and access to affordable health and human services. By working together we can create an environment where all people, including those most vulnerable, have a voice in decision-making, [and]where each human being is treated in a way that preserves his or her dignity and rights."
