Southampton - Teens in seventh through 12th grade are invited to audition for Hampton Idol 5.

Sponsored by the Southampton Youth Bureau, this is a safe and supervised event. Auditions are held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Hampton Bays Community Center from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Contestants must submit an application to Audition.

Solo performers can provide their own recorded background music or can perform with acoustic guitar or keyboard.

Entrants will be judged by a panel of adult music professionals and students from the Youth Advisory Committee. Prizes will include studio time, gift certificates, trophies, etc.
