Bridgehampton - The Long Island Horse Show Series for Riders with Disabilities (LIHSSRD), the first of its kind for riders with special needs, participated for the third year in a row in the finals at The Hampton Classic last week. Riders are judged on equitation, demonstration and knowledge of riding skills.
In order to create a "level" competition, information sheets were provided to the judge with information regarding restrictions and exceptions particular to the riders on an individual basis. Arm bands were worn to indicate a visual, auditory, or physical impairment, informing the Judge in making a fair assessment.
As a sponsor of the LIHSSRD, the Bridgehampton National Bank is dedicated to active community involvement that supports local programs and initiatives related to the environment, education, healthcare, the arts, social services and issues that impact the quality of life for the people who live on eastern Long Island. Founded in 1910, the Bridgehampton National Bank operates retail branches on Eastern Long Island from Shirley to Montauk and Deer Park to Greenport. Dubbed as the local bank for local business, BNB has a history of strong financial performance, conservative underwriting standards, personalized service and accessible management.
