Southampton - "Agawam Loves The Hamptons," was the theme of Agawam Realty's recent dual open house celebration marking new offices at 81 Jobs Lane in Southampton Village and 23 West Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.
Noted for its decades-long tradition of hosting a Holiday Open House for members of the real estate and business communities, Agawam Realty decided to hold off until the finishing touches were completed on the new Southampton space. So instead of "Happy Holidays," it was "Happy Valentine's Day" – which turned out to be a nice change of pace as well as a good excuse for a company party early in the new year.

Fellow realtors, local business members, area attorneys, public officials and old friends were on hand to welcome the crew to their new offices and a traditionally large crowd turned out to say hello and check out the new digs. Regulars to the open house event were pleased to see that plenty of the trademark champagne and caviar was served up with an added treat as the organizers introduced a new, green caviar, in addition to the traditional black and red varieties.
The "new" Southampton office is actually a clever reworking of most of the original Agawam Realty space, shifting most of the operation from a dark ground floor layout to an open, brighter, second floor operation with a birds-eye view of Monument Square and name-sake Lake Agawam.
In addition to the agents' workstation area and executive offices, a large, two-story cathedral ceiling in the conference hall, with a library, full kitchen and dining room awaits future clients. A separate wing houses the offices of Appraisals East, Inc.
As part of the expansion and renovation, additional space was taken just to the east of the old office for ground floor administrative and reception areas, as well as a second, more formal conference room.
In Hampton Bays, the new Agawam Realty office is now located right in the center of the village, surrounded by JT's Place, Gator's, Tony's Asian Fusion, and Scotto's – the latter providing the fare for the Thursday evening party. A third office in Sag Harbor, centrally located at 16 Main Street, completes the Agawam Realty office suite, rounding out the geographical coverage of the brokerage.
Agawam Realty is one of the oldest continuously run real estate brokerages on the East End, first opening in 1974, and still independently owned and operated by its local principal broker, the legendary elder statesmen of Hamptons real estate, Jack Hangen.
