Shelter Island - On Saturday, Sept. 12 between 4 p.m. and 12 midnight Shelter Island's lovely Wades Beach will be the sandy stage for the 22nd Annual Shelter Island Beach Blast A-Go-Go!, a benefit for the Gift of Life Foundation.

This years rockin' talent line-up includes the unstoppable "unstoppable" Lonesharks, from Austin Texas Ruby Dee & The Snakhandlers, George Gilmore & The Giblets, The Moondogs, The Honeydusters, The Moonlighters, the dancing Queen Wahini & The Go-Go Dolls, and magician The Amazing Cardone, who will bring along his eight-foot Guillotine!

Ray Congdon's legendary Pig Roast and BBQ will be available to all takers (at popular prices).

This year's event is to benefit Shelter Island's Gift of Life Foundation. Bring beach blankets and sweaters, $10 donation collected at the beach. Parking is free.
