East Hampton - AIA Peconic, the East End chapter of the American Institute of Architects, will hold its 2009 Design Awards Symposium at the Ross School in East Hampton, on Friday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m.
The Symposium and Presentation of Awards, which begins at 7 p.m., will follow the opening reception. The event is open to the public free of charge.
The jurors for this year's symposium are: Barbara A. Nadel, FAIA , principal of BNA, a New York City architectural and consulting firm; Ricardo Scofidio, a partner in Diller, Scofidio and Renfro, the architectural firm responsible for the on-going redevelopment of the High Line on the west side of Manhattan and the recently completed renovation of the Julliard and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center; and Bruce D. Eisenberg, AIA, an architect with 25 years of experience directing programming, master planning and design for government, educational, commercial, recreational and residential projects. He is the director of the Building and Facilities Division of the STV architectural group's New York studio.
AIA Peconic, whose geographic boundaries include the five towns of eastern Long Island, proudly acknowledges that over 30 projects by area architects will be featured in this year's competition.
