ArtHamptons Will Be Held On Grounds Of Bridgehampton Historical Society

Bridgehampton - ArtHamptons will take place on July 11, July 12 and July 13, from 12 noon to 6 p.m., on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Historical Society, where $100 million worth of museum quality art will be available for sale. An impressive collection of 19th and 20th century, as well as contemporary art, will be on exhibit in one place, including original works by De Kooning, Picasso, Lichtenstein, Hassam and Corot. Art pieces representing some of the leading contemporary Chinese, Latin American and Cuban art will also be featured.

All proceeds taken at the door are donated to charity.

Daytime Rundown

 • Friday, July 11 - Daytime entrance fee is $20. From 12 noon to 2 p.m. The New York Sun will host a private media party to kick-off the three-day art fair with a media party.

All day ticket proceeds from 12 noon to 6 p.m., are donated to the Pollock/Krasner House. ArtHamptons ticket holders also receive complimentary admission to the Pollock/Krasner House.

From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. - The Passion for Possession: Hamptons Collectors on Collecting with Helen A. Harrison, the Director of the Pollock Krasner House, will host a panel discussion. Members of the panel include Ron Delsner, Henry Buhl, Larry Dubin, and Michael Senft.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. - Book Signing - Dan Rattiner reads from his collection of short stories entitled, "In the Hamptons," to be followed by a book-signing. Dan's Papers hosts the advertiser party.

At 6 p.m. - Silent Auction Results. A rare Lee Krasner serigraph goes to the highest bidder via silent auction.
 • Saturday, July 12 - Using the Internet to Build Your Collection.

From 12 noon to 1 p.m. - Bill Fine, the President of Artnet Worldwide Corp. will talk about internet collecting at an "invitation only," party for The New York Observer in the VIP tent.

From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. - Is Art The Final Real Estate? - internationally known painter and
sculptor, Audrey Flack, moderates a heated panel discussion of art world luminaries. Members of the panel include celebrated artist April Gornick, Curator of the Whitney Museum Donna De Salvo, Art Critic for New York Magazine Jerry Saltz, and curator Klaus Kertess.

"The Hartley Elegies," a renowned lithograph by Robert Indiana, and donated by Verve Gallery will be offered via silent auction and the proceeds will go to the Relocation Fund of our local NPR affiliate, WLIU-Radio.

WLIU-Radio will have its own interview tent outside the VIP Lounge from which art dealers, artists and other art world luminaries will be interviewed.
 • Sunday, July 13, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. - ArtHamptons celebrates The Bridgehampton Historical Society, with an afternoon cocktail fundraiser and silent auction held in the VIP Tent to support the restoration and preservation of the Nathaniel Rogers Mansion.

At 6 p.m. - an original Wolf Kahn pastel donated by the Gerald Melberg Gallery will be auctioned, and the proceeds, in combination with the day's door, will be donated to the Bridgehampton Historical Society.
Evening Fundraising Events
 • On Thursday, July 10, The Preview Gala will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; tickets are $125 at the door; 97-year-old artist and master printmaker Will Barnet, will be honored by ArtHamptons and Artnet, who will present the artist with a Lifetime Achievement Award. An original, signed, Will Barnet lithograph will be auctioned, and the proceeds donated to The American Heart Association. The sole media sponsor for the event is Art & Auction Magazine.
 • On Friday, July 11, The Batters Box Benefit will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; entrance fee is $25 at the door. Alumni and present day participants in the Annual Artists and Writers Softball Game celebrate the game's 60th Anniversary, with a fundraising cocktail party. Hosted by The Art Newspaper.

Coming directly from a successful run at Caroline's Comedy Club in NYC, "Audrey Flack and The Art Officials String Band," will provide irreverent musical fun at the expense of officious members of the art world - in the VIP Tent. View selected works - boxes, sculpture and paintings - from the upcoming Box Art Auction. All proceeds are divided equally between the Phoenix House, East Hampton Day Care and East End Hospice.

 • On Saturday, July 12, The Art of Life Fundraising Cocktail Party will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Entrance fee is $125 at the door. The Southampton Hospital rocks out in the VIP Tent, sponsored by ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) as well as the following media sponsors: Artnet, The New York Observer, PLUM-TV, Hamptons Magazine and WLIU-Radio. Andy Warhol lithograph entitled "After the Party," will be auctioned, and the proceeds will go to The Southampton Hospital's Emergency Room.
