Wainscott Students Receive Visit From Fire Department

Fire Department Visit
Recently members of the Bridgehampton Fire Department came to the Wainscott school and gave a very special safety presentation. The students were able to see and explore a pumper fire truck and an ambulance, and enjoyed being able to use a real fire hose. The volunteers who gave their time to the school were: Chief John Healey, Mr. E. Osborn, Mr. Halsey and Mr. White.

The students received fire hats, badges and informational coloring books. They also enjoyed having a snack with their guests.

Farm Stand Visit
The students made their annual walking trip to Lisa and Bill's farm stand in Wainscott. Mrs. Ceci Babinski gave the students an informational tour and they got to pick their own pumpkin and gourds. They also received a special personalized treat from Mrs. Babinski. One the students returned to school, they tied Indian corn together for their bird feeder.

Pumpkin Pancakes
The second and third graders measured, mixed and prepared pumpkin pancakes. All of the children were treated to the opportunity to taste them. They also conducted a pumpkin seed count and roasted the seeds.
