Merit Scholarship Program
Ross juniors have broken a new school record - 12 percent of the rising senior class made the first round of the National Merit Scholarship competition. Ross Lower School
The Pre-Kindergarteners at Ross were given the opportunity to see their works of art featured in a professional setting during a special exhibit at The Fireplace Project Gallery in East Hampton. The class took a trip to the gallery to help curate their group show on Thursday, April 30. The show consists of
Edvard Munch-inspired sculptures and paintings, which feature swirling colors, as well as flower still-lifes, inspired by Georgia O'Keefe. This special exhibit concludes their studies on art, which began in April. The students have been studying several famous modern painters, including
Jackson Pollock, and a style of painting known as action painting, where the paint is dribbled, splashed or smeared on to the canvas, versus carefully applied.
