Starting on Sunday July 6th through August head over to the Parrish Art Museum at 11 a.m for a new fun outdoor summer program called Yoga on the Terrace with Ananda. Special post-yoga breakfast items will be available for purchase in the Golden Pear Café at the Parrish and attendees are encouraged to visit the galleries afterward. The Wellness Center is located in Southampton and is open to all participants at all levels. This weekly one-hour session will send you on a relaxing experience. Yoga mats will be available to purchase in the Museum shop or attendees may bring their own.
Mary Angela Buffo and other certified Ananda instructors will utilize the Museum setting by encouraging participants to reflect on the creative process, while learning to breathe more efficiently, extend the range of motion, and strengthen the body. “Yoga is not merely an exercise for the physical body,” says Buffo, “it is a philosophical practice that has the ability to relieve stress and create a quieter mind, allowing each of us to tap into our creative genius.”
The program is included with Museum admission; $10, free for Members, children and students. Advance reservations are encouraged but not required, and attendance is not restricted. A special one-time waiver will be available online at www.parrishart.org or at the Museum on the day of classes.
