This holiday season, if you’re shopping for an animal lover, keep the 2016 ARF Pet Calendar from Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) on your radar. The 11th edition of the beloved calendar features adorable snapshots of pets and pet owners. Proceeds from the desk calendar directly benefit the cats and dogs that call the ARF Adoption Center in Wainscott home, until they find their forever family.
“The ARF Pet Calendar makes a great gift for any lover of animals this holiday season, while supporting the animals at the ARF Adoption Center,” shared Jamie Berger, Director of Marketing & Communications at Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF). Over 150 cats, kittens, puppies and dogs are currently at the shelter, waiting for a clan to call their own, and as per usual, several Adoption Center residents are showcased in the 2016 copy.
April Gornik, who lives and works in New York City and in North Haven, was picked as this year’s cover artist. The honor is extremely special, as last year her husband, internationally acclaimed painter and sculptor, Eric Fischl, created the cover work. A member of the art scene since the late 1970’s, her artwork often displays dramatic landscapes. Gornik, who is very involved with several East End organizations and frequently donates her artwork to be auctioned off during local fundraisers, was honored by two Hamptons-based organizations this summer, the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center at their 9th annual Get Wild benefit and South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) during its 26th Annual Summer Gala.
The ARF Pet Calendar is available online, at the Adoption Center (91 Daniels Hole Road, Wainscott), and at the ARF Thrift Shop (17 Montauk Highway, Sagaponack). The calendar is just $25.
