Does your ideal Sunday Funday shenanigans include puppies, kittens, brunch, and a fashion show? Make a date with Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF) who is hosting a Barkin’ (& Meowin’) Brunch at Calissa in Water Mill on Sunday, June 10.
“This year the Southampton Animal Shelter is kicking off the summer season with a fun brunch to benefit our animals,” explained Jerry Rosenthal, SASF Executive Director.
Taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., attendees can mingle with the adorable adoptable pets that are currently at SASF waiting to meet forever family, admire Fashions by Marina St. Barth, and enjoy brunch.
“Come enjoy great food, music and fashions and meet some of our adorable pets looking for their forever home,” Rosenthal noted.
Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is dedicated to “providing for the welfare of animals and reducing the number of homeless pets” in the area. The 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization provides sanctuary for all animals in need, and for some, SASF is a last resort. In 2017 alone, SASF took in over 1,400 animals – 232 of which were rescued from overcrowded shelters in New York City, Long Island, Puerto Rico, Georgia, and even the Yulin Meat Festival in China, and helped 867 SASFans find their forever home. The organization addresses homelessness through its low-cost mobile veterinary spay and neuter clinic that visits underserved areas of Suffolk County, and also offers community outreach initiatives such as surrender prevention programs (Pet Food Pantry), humane education in local schools, and subsidized spay/neuter surgeries for feral community cats (Advo-Cats Program).
“SASF relies on the support of our community to provide our important programs and services for pets and their families,” Rosenthal added.
