Bedside Reading®, the program that brings bestsellers to the bedsides of luxury hotels nationwide, is launching in the Hamptons this summer.
Complimentary gift bags packed with page-turners will be available at select hotels from Southampton to East Hampton – with five different editions offered throughout the summer.
“Our goal is to remind hotel guests what it means to hold a book in their hands and delve into the world of words, while at the same time soaking up the ambiance at summer’s hottest destinations,” explained Bedside Reading founder, Jane Ubell-Meyer. “And the best part is, you get to take that book with you when you leave, for free.”
Bedside Reading Hamptons, which evolved from Ubell-Meyer’s Hampton Gift Bag program, will be available at Southampton Inn in Southampton, White Fences in Water Mill, Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton, Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor, East Hampton’s The Maidstone, The Mill House Inn and The Baker House, and Hotel Indigo in Riverhead.
“Placing books from bestselling authors directly into the hands of Hampton travelers is a unique amenity that both New Yorkers and travelers from all over the world will enjoy,” added Ubell-Meyer.
The Memorial Day weekend iteration will feature Before I Let You Go, By Invitation Only, Daughter of Destiny, Educated, Endless Beach, High Season, How to Walk Away, Lighthouse Beach, Love & Ruin, The Lying Game, Maid for Love, Sunburn, The Cactus, The Secret to Southern Charm, This I Know, and Unstoppable Influence. Additionally, for those that often sneak a late night snack, the bag will also include Nightfood.
In addition to the holiday weekend version, new titles will arrive on June 14 (Flag Day), July 4 (Independence Day), August 3rd (National Watermelon Day) and September 3rd (Labor Day).
For those not staying at a Bedside Reading partner this summer, you can reserve a bag and pick it up at Lucille Khornak Gallery in Bridgehampton, or have it shipped anywhere in the U.S. There is a nominal fee to reserve a bag, which supports Abilis, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides services and supports over 700 individuals with special needs and their families.
