On the beautiful Hayground School campus in Bridgehampton, those of you who are looking to center yourselves after a summer of one too many sunburns or fishing trips can look forward to the 2nd Annual Hamptons Yoga Festival. From Friday, August 26th through Sunday, August 28th, join some of the worlds most esteemed yogis in the most enriching and healing event of the season.
Founders Jenna Walter and Alex Grant both have an extensive history of teaching yoga all across the globe. This East End yoga festival brings together local and international yogis, yoga teachers, renowned healers in massage, acupuncture, and musicians for a wholesome three days.
Participants can look forward, after last year’s incredible turnout, to a restorative long weekend of community building. “Last year several hundred people participated in three days of fun, family and spirit-filled activities – yoga, music, energy work and sacred ceremony,” said Grant. “This community consecration of a beautiful space opened spirit for this year.” An Opening Ceremony with Jenna Walter, Steve Anderson and Roddie Smith will take place on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Teachers will include locals Angela Williams-Jones and Heidi Fokine, and nationally known teachers such as Mark Whitwell, Alan Finger and Sarah Platt-Finger. Samuel J, Srikalogy, Kirtan Soul Revival, Dan Bailey Tribe, 13 Hands, Bryan Lurie, Aya and Tyler and Iemanjo are among performers. The event has garnered an impressive selection of affiliated yoga studios and sponsors, both local and regional.
Tickets range from $5 (for a ground pass) to $192 (for a full weekend pass that includes all classes and music).
