"Yoga allows for introspection and calm — the perfect state to contemplate works of art, and experience the creative process," noted program coordinator Amy Kirwin, Visitor Services and Museum Programs Manager at the Parrish Art Museum
Between work, festive baking, gift shopping, seasonal gatherings, and travel, the holidays can be a particularly stressful time of the year. To help de-stress and make you feel a little more Zen, Parrish Art Museum is holding Yoga & Dharma, an extension of its Yoga on the Terrace with Ananda program from the summer. On Friday, December 19th at 6 p.m., join Mary Angela Buffo of Ananda Wellness and Yoga Center at the Museum's Lichtenstein Theater. The class begins with gentle yoga poses and dialogue followed by guided meditation, and ends with a short question and answer period.
Yoga & Dharma is open to participants of all ages and any level of practice. The session aims, in part, to assist yogis in achieving a state of mind that is ideal for experiencing art in the Parrish galleries.
Admission is $10, and free for members, children, and students.
Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Highway in Water Mill. For more information, call 631-283-2118 or visit parrishart.org.
