Wellness Programs At Southampton Hospital

- Studies show that stress can cause both physical and emotional health problems that exacerbate illness in patients who are facing life-threatening or chronic illness. Every day, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers see patients for whom pharmaceuticals or surgery are not effective. Often these patients have chronic conditions and stress-related symptoms that can be significantly improved by mind/body interventions.
The Ed and Phyllis Davis Wellness Institute at Southampton Hospital
announces its latest mind body wellness program for all cancer patients which teaches people how to reduce physical and emotional problems caused by illness.
The eight week course is taught by Mind/Body/Wellness certified staff who were trained at Harvard Medical College. The program is covered by most medical insurance and a Medical Evaluation is required to register. The program is from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays beginning on April 14 through June 2.
